Keep getting kicked back out of STALKER multiplayer games?
October 8, 2008
This probably has something to do with either a mismatch in the versions of STALKER you are running and the server is running, or the fact you are running a modded version of STALKER. Or simply your ping is too high.
Extra Secret Multiplayer Maps for Stalker
June 23, 2008
Was looking for these new maps after I saw them being offered on the main network list. Truthfully, I saw it a while ago but got discouraged after I couldn’t get an explanation. Well, I should have just trusted google, because I found the new maps for stalker multiplayer with one click. File Front has the download which is about 60mb.

Jelezyka The UberHacker L33t Stalker
June 21, 2008

Ok, so I haven’t played much on the Ukraine servers because my ping is way too-boo-koo. But I can still snipe pretty well and piss off all the foreigners into trying to ban me every time (I’m that good–I guess). But that’s another story. Anyway, I started getting fragged by this guy named Jelezyka, who was popping off unbelievable shots, as if everyone else was in slow motion. He would shoot 3 of us in a group with a pistol before we could even get sights on him. He ended up having a score of 83-5 (83 Kills 5 deaths) and i forgot to get the screen shot to show you all. But I was in a game earlier today and got on his team this time, followed him around, and I noticed this:
- His Shots are SUPER LETHAL, one shot, one kill, from weapons that barely do diddly when I fire (you too probably).
- He SPRINTS alot faster than me. Alot faster.
- His shots are super accurate, and fast! He can take out everyone in front of him with a pistol, not even all headshots.
- He barely dies when you try to shoot him. However, I did frag him with a grenade and he died, so he wasn’t invincible.
- When he is dropped/kicked/banned in a vote, he never leaves the room, it just doesn’t work.
I’ve heard of Stalker being hacked like crazy back in the day, and patches making up for it to a large degree, but this is the first time I’ve seen UBER HACKING of Stalker with my own eyes.

Jalezyka pissed off so many people, as soon as he enters, a vote starts to drop/ban him. And every time it succeeds, he still manages to stay in the game. Unbelievable how he was able and still able is to hack this game. I’m so impressed I NEVER vote to kick him out, I just make sure I am on his team. What does piss me off about the guy though even more is the fact whenever we need him to help, he’s AFK or something, comes back, gets 20 kills in a row, and leaves. It really doesn’t help having Jalezyka on your team unless you hate getting fragged like I do.

This is the same game I got banned from just for sniping a guy 6 or 7 times, while Jelezyka is unbannable. **** Really Floats to The Surface In Stalker Servers Huh?
Rostok Factory: A Spot So Good It Got Me Banned
June 21, 2008
I really like this level, you can get some nice CQB and long distance action going on all at once. But today, I found a GREAT spot that I never knew about. Alot of you might miss the ladder behind the Blue base that leads up to the roof of the shed next to it. But on the edge of that, you are totally invulnerable thanks to it being part of the home base. From this spot you can effectively see this area that leads up to the factory windows where your other team mates can snipe from. So I’m quite certain the game creators did this for a reason, seeing as if you are on the Green Team, from your home base, you can snipe half of the middle building. To think that anyone on Green would complain about one guy being able to snipe one small alley is LUDICROUS: ladies and gentlemen, I present to you a sore loser called 12_OUNCE_MOUSE.

How it got me banned was this guy who kept creeping up behind us and base-raping us actually started a vote when he realized I kept sniping him from that spot he got all upset. Like a little baby that got a candy taken from him, he immediately tries to ban me.
This player’s name was 12_ounce_mouse and if you find him in a game, just vote to ban him, don’t even wait for others to do it,, otherwise, if you start fragging him, he’ll start a vote on you. I’ve seen him do it before, and he did it to me today. So, I basically sniped him our 6 or 7 times before he could even get near us. He used some excuse in some gibberish language I couldn’t understand like, I was base squatting or something. Mind you, he never got a shot at me to confirm whether I was on base or not, he always saw me too late.
So remember that player, 12_ounce_mouse = Sore Loser, Game Wrecker, and most likely has a 2″ peesh (when hard). Let me pose you all a question, are you to ban every person that you can’t shoot because you probably just lack the knowledge to do so, nothing about skills, you just don’t know how to defeat an enemy at a certain position. Is it a Ukrainian thing to just ban everybody that makes the game more difficult? I hope not, because I wouldn’t ban you guys in my server no matter what you did (except blatant hacking).
Stalker Patch Version 1.0007 Coming Out
June 21, 2008
Remarkably, I thought this “dead game” got no more attention from it’s creators in lieu of creating something totally new. But as the Network Game console indicates, they’re testing out a new version as we speak. I’ve seen this on there for about a week now, never anyone in there, password protected of course, but you wouldn’t be able to connect with 1.0006 anyway.
So as you can see, version 1.0007 is in the works, another reason to reinstall Stalker or download it for $29.99 and get your official CD-Key for Multiplayer. I hope they’ve worked out the Grenade Launcher issue, as well as the random crashes in the server console, really takes the joy out of this game.
Grenade Launcher Still Crashes Multiplayer
May 15, 2008
I’m sorry, but I had words tonight with a guy that wouldn’t stop using the Grenade Launcher, he didn’t believe me when I said it crashes the server most often out of any other type of weapon, whether it’s the sound or whatever, I’ve not only STALK THE PLANET crash time after time, but other servers I’ve played on. GSC I believe claims to have fixed this in a patch, but truly it keeps crashing. Again, and again and again. The patch notes for v1.0006 claim its a problem with “launching” grenades, “throwing” grenades, etc., but I’m almost certain it has more to do with the explosions. Most severely (and without fail) such crashes occur when many explosions happen in a short amount of time, and what weapon causes that the most? The Grenade Launcher.
Here’s the official patch notes:
Multiplayer game changes:
- Fixed crashes connected with memory allocation.
- Fixed crashes upon disconnecting of the client, who didn’t have the map used on the server (when using a game MOD).
- Added uptime parameter to the dedicated server info, indicating the time of uninterrupted server functioning in days, minutes and seconds.
- Fixed crash connected with the shooting from the grenade launcher.
- Fixed crash connected with dropped/eaten item.
- Fixed crash connected with starting new game (for example, upon map changing).
- Fixed crash connected with joining to the server upon map changing (the client respawned on the old map, while the other players already switched to the new).
- Fixed bug with killing the players when too many players appeared on the base when the round started.
- Fixed bug with killing the player when throwing a grenade.
- Fixed bug with player’s invisibility when putting armor on.
- Fixed bug with entering invalid commands in console.S
So at least 3 of these errors keep happening despite the server and clients being updated to 1.0006, unfortunately, this error will never be fixed since a new stalker is coming out soon.
So just a bit of ediquette DONT USE THE GRENADE LAUNCHER unless you don’t like the server you’re playing on and want everyone’s enjoyment to be interrupted because you wanted to be cool.
Funny STALKER MP Game Tonight
April 28, 2008
Saw a few guys in the server tonight, some were AFK but a 2 were playing so I jumped in. I was outnumbered 2 to 1, wasn’t taking it too seriously, trying to make it difficult for them to score rather than make unprotected runs for the artifact. The game was going along pretty poorly for me, was down 12 points to 0, because they kept making mad dashes for the artifact. I racked up about 20 kills as opposed to their combined kills of 7 on me. I have to stress, I wasn’t “camping” or sitting on the base until the very end of the match when all the drama started. I would do the usual stick and move, stop listen for footsteps, try to eliminate what’s creating that sound, and move on to the next location, usually in the middle of the map, so to say that it’s being a “base camper” proves one’s ignorance to STALKER MP. I’m no expert, I’ve just played this game alot from both sides and know the intricacies of each level’s most dangerous and enlightened positions.
Anyway, I think one or more of these guys got tired of just scoring over and over without me going for it (i was trying to catch them and pick it up after they drop) and they began to camp to try and get me. Then they steadily began to flank both sides of my spawn area looking for me, and by chance it just began that they pinned me down there. I would let loose frag after frag and caught them 7 or 8 times because they predictably squatted in one of 4 places. So, one of the other team members switches to my side and just starts tyring to frag me, his new team mate. When I asked why he bluntly answered, “Because you are a pansy, you keep shooting from the spawn point.”
I tried to explain if he hadn’t incessantly encroached on my spawn area making it impossible for me to move but he wouldn’t stop trying to frag me. This went on for a full 5 minutes, me and him running in circles around the base camp trying to push each other off so the other would die in a hail of friendly fire. He got me once admittedly because I stopped to type, he pushed me right off base and fragged me. Meanwhile the other guy in the game left, then when I switched to Freedom so we could bang it out one on one (something I would definitely beat him at), he disconnected within seconds.
Who is the “real” pansy here?
Let me explain something. When you have 2 enemies closing in on you from all sides entering the building right where you spawn, you have two choices, stand your ground and fight, or die. Anyone who has a problem with that is literally a sore loser, because he is probably getting killed by you more often for being stupid and too brave. So instead of stammering around multiplayer games like a baby demanding people to stop camping on base, simply stop encroaching onto their base and they wouldn’t have to. Just play your game with a little smarts, a little ediquitte, and a little manners and everyone will get along. Don’t you agree?
Moreover, show some multiplayer ediquette already. You’re up by a dozen points, outnumbering your enemy 2:1 and you are complaining about something? Get real. The only thing that comes to mind are the words “sore winner.” That’s when you’re winning but the cost of winning is so great the taste of victory isn’t so sweet. Sort of like the war in Iraq now. See how frustrating my strategy can be to the enemy?
Hardware Matters in Stalker Multiplayer
April 27, 2008
How big is your screen?

I only ask, because you might be at disadvantage in Stalker Multiplayer before you even lace up your radioactive slacks. I often wondered if upgrading to a larger display would adversely affect my gameplay or enhance it. Within a few short hours, all the wondering was set aside, and as I will explain, I quickly gave up using a relatively small 21″ LCD and now use a dell 3007wfp 30″ display. I call this a natural cheat because it’s a way of getting an edge over other players in a “natural” way. You can’t really blame or accuse someone of “using a bigger monitor than me” as this is a “natural” occurrence in the gaming world and the real world.
I can tell you for certain, on average I get 25% more frags per game thanks to a 30″ widescreen monitor, simply because characters appear for me sooner than I appear for others. As with the real world, a fraction of a second can mean life or death, and alike with a low ping rate, blending into the background while your enemy takes shape will mean a victory for you (as long as your aim is true). I am literally able to see people walking through cracks at a much higher rate than someone on a smaller LCD, resulting in me being called a cheater on numerous occasion; the usual response being, “how’d you know where I was? You must be hacking!” Well, now you know, and I didn’t do a single thing except spend more money than most.
Your Other hardware must match your display.
Most of you can’t just up and buy a display of such high native resolution, in my case 2560×1600, without a little video card juice. I’m no expert, and have not been able to try out EVERY option available, but I can tell you what configuration works for me and helps me get many many frags per game (hardware matters alot). I’m using dual nvidia geforce 8800gtx cards in SLI mode (to help with 3d drawing and performance), 3gb pc6400 ddr, intel q6600 quad core processor, slow compared to many others, but I bought this for business, not necessarily game play so the CPU can be better.
Overclocking for Stalker
I don’t typically overclock and won’t do so on this machine for this game, and can’t tell you if it helps in multiplayer. If it does, I’m sure it can’t be much more than the tweaks and other hardware upgrades you can “naturally”
Ping Matters
Ping rate really does matter after much thought, and hardware can effect it to some degree. More on this later.
Stalker Multiplayer Tip: Use Your Ears!
April 27, 2008
…And buy a pair of GOOD headphones.

Another aspect of this game that I truly admire is the sound quality and your ability to use it to your advantage. Specifically, with the footsteps your enemies make, you can determine where they are, their direction, their speed, and how many there are.I had a guy once accuse me of cheating because I “knew where he was all the time” and when I explained I can literally hear where you are going, if you are on grass, if you are in trees, if you are running on pavement, etc, he totally didn’t believe it, opting to believe I magically knew where he was all the time. If I have any secret, it’s in the fact I personally know almost everywhere the enemy might want to go and then in turn move in positions that counter those positions, but with respect to my movement, I’ll go X amount of feet, stop and listen, go some more, stop and listen, and never make a B line anywhere unless I’m in a group or feel it’s completely safe. No cheating necessary.
On the flip side, always remember to sprint and run only when you need to, because running is the noisiest form of travel in this game, running on pavement and metal is the noisiest, followed by slow walk, and crouching walk. All of these methods make noise, if they don’t, you need a sound upgrade.
I have a surround sound system, but prefer headphones because people live near me and I don’t want them to think WW3 is under way. So I’m not sure if the sound is that much clearer on a complete 5.1 or greater sound system compared to my Pro Sony headphones.
Also change this setting in your user.ltx file:
“snd_targets 24″ to “snd_targets 32″
This will give the sound created by enemies more depth, you can actually sense where they are before long with a little practice. Trust me.
STALKER MULTIPLAYER MODS
April 14, 2008
Unfortunately, GSC is on top of their game when it comes to patching up cheats, therefore all multiplayer mods or multiplayer hacks for Stalker, Shadow of Chernobyl are outdated and do not work on the newest versions that you need to run the game.
If you know of any cheats or hacks please report them here, not to proliferate, but to warn other players about. I really don’t like cheaters, that’s why I monitor my Stalker Game Server for people with high kill counts and low death counts and analyze how he/she is playing… if he is pulling off things no human stalker could, then I might speak up.
The only time I felt like I fell victim to a cheater was when I was sniping people from a house, then all of a sudden, I started getting stabbed, I heard the “Whoosh!” and the damage was being done, but I couldn’t see the guy! And he didn’t make any noise when walking. I spoke up about it and it didn’t happen again.
I’d like to make a post about how a VERY low ping can make people think you’re cheating. I figured out a way to connect to my server faster from home, so I have a ping of 8 or 9 now, and in the past few games I really did well, one game I had 92 frags and 8 deaths! But I didn’t cheat, wouldn’t know where to begin to program any hacks, it just seemed like everything was in real time, where as in a room where I have a ping of 100, that extra second can make the difference between you zooming in on your enemy before he zooms in on you, I truly believe this to be the case, which is why you shouldn’t get mad at people with low pings, just find a game where the average ping is closer to yours.
