Extra Secret Multiplayer Maps for Stalker
June 23, 2008
Was looking for these new maps after I saw them being offered on the main network list. Truthfully, I saw it a while ago but got discouraged after I couldn’t get an explanation. Well, I should have just trusted google, because I found the new maps for stalker multiplayer with one click. File Front has the download which is about 60mb.

Stalker Patch Version 1.0007 Coming Out
June 21, 2008
Remarkably, I thought this “dead game” got no more attention from it’s creators in lieu of creating something totally new. But as the Network Game console indicates, they’re testing out a new version as we speak. I’ve seen this on there for about a week now, never anyone in there, password protected of course, but you wouldn’t be able to connect with 1.0006 anyway.
So as you can see, version 1.0007 is in the works, another reason to reinstall Stalker or download it for $29.99 and get your official CD-Key for Multiplayer. I hope they’ve worked out the Grenade Launcher issue, as well as the random crashes in the server console, really takes the joy out of this game.
STALKER Wallpapers
April 7, 2008
Wanted to share with you a really cool site that shares free Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl Wallpapers. I use a variation of these on my two computers, but they have 45+ of these wallpapers, so it was very hard to decide. I’m not even sure where some of these people got these graphics, but it really does make a nice addition to any Stalker Fan’s workspace.

Nuclear Snow Mod
April 6, 2008
The Nuclear Snow Mod for STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl is by far my favorite “complete” mod. The developer did a really great job of modding pretty much every aspect of the game in its default state, the textures, the weapons, the environment, the sky, enemies, all modified. But the best part is the way the environment is now devoid of almost all color, giving the zone a true “NUCLEAR WINTER” feel to it. Truly I don’t know what walking around after a massive nuclear exchange or nuclear meltdown (1986 accident was small time compared to what could have happened) but this mod really makes me feel like the world has come to an end, great addition to single player if you ask me.
THE CHANGES:
-Retexturing of over 3000 textures
-Stronger bumpmaps
-Stronger parallaxmaps
-Bigger bloodmarks
-Bigger bloodpuffs
-Light from headlamp extended
-Weathercolors altered
-Fireparticles extended
-Modified Carrymod2 inserted, compatible with Carrymod3
I definitely recommend giving this Stalker mod a try, however, I have not been able to use it for some months after updating to v1.0006, so somewhere along the way one of the versions will be the right one. I am pretty sure 1.003 was the last time it worked, any help is appreciated on this matter.
Stalker Patches
April 6, 2008
I have to admit, Patching STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl is a royal pain in yarbles. This is due to the fact you need to patch the game in increments, and somewhere along the line, they created a version that skips a couple, and long story short, I sat there for abour 30 minutes, and then had to reinstall the entire game just because I got my hands on this weird version, it was official, but nonetheless weird.
But, to save you time I am posting in this entry the versions and links (IN ORDER) that you should download and install. You can skip versions 1.0002 and 1.0004.
1) Version 1.0000 to Version 1.0001
2) Version 1.0001 to Version 1.0003
3) Version 1.0003 to Version 1.0005
4) Version 1.0005 to Version 1.0006

Please Note: Updating STALKER to at least version 1.0005 is critical for multiplayer it seems, I’ve had the game lock up the entire system and I’ve had to do a hard restart just because I did not patch the game first.
But, if you have Mods Installed for Stalker, updating to v1.0006 causes the game to crash, forcing a reinstall. This is why you might need to create two separate installs of Stalker, one for single player, one for multiplayer.
